Max here. I have been reading The Last Brgade, I am on book 4. Thanks for the stories! Based on what went on in Syria nd Ukraine you sure missed on the use of drones. It seems military thinking is usually fighting the last war. Just saying. Imaging on drones is fantastic. They can stand off as much as 15 miles image an item or area of interest and target it for missiles or arty. Also, Pournelle was correct. A 100KG ‘rock’ from geo-synch orbit on de-orbit at 25,000mph can be used as a plasma area device or a ground device. It would deliver about the same energy as the Hiroshima-Nagasaki devices, only no radiation. Something for your thoughts. Regards Max
Hi Max, thanks for the comment. So drones are used in the books, but none that require satellites. That system is gone, so they have no way of directing the drones.
