STANDING IN THE STORM, The Many Worlds of William Alan Webb

We Sleep At Night Because America's Armed Forces, Police and Fire Fighters Never Do

“By this axe I rule!” – 1975

Here’s my version of the famous scene in Kull the Destroyer, drawn by Mike Ploog. I didn’t want a direct copy, so there are big differences in mine and his. I wanted mine more stark and modernistic. In turn, I’m pretty sure Ploog was inspired by the great Frank Frazetta. From 1975.

I don’t remember what this was supposed to represent, if anything specific. Whatever it was, it looks like fun! –  Circa 1974

Untitled from 1974

My finished pencils, inks and coloring from a sketch during my time at the University of Tennessee. The colors are brighter in person.

My second copy of a favorite album cover. Acrylic on canvas – 1982

HAWKWIND – Warrior On The Edge Of Time

I found something hopeful yet melancholy about this album cover. This is my interpretation, with one change from the original.  Acrylic on canvas – 1982
